Weight training during pregnancy ..

Updated: Jun 20, 2020
If you are already actively training in a gym , lifting weights and keeping in shape , there is no reason why you should stop lifting ...
The modifications are very important as your body is constantly changing and I would advise focusing on lowering the weights , longer rest in between reps , a shorter workout (30 mins) and a lot of stretches after your workout ..
The focus is just to keep in shape going back to basic but still challenging enough to Keep your strong , lean and ready for a much easier delivery during labor ..
Strong inner thighs , strong back , good posture , strong biceps , strong core !!!
You should always be able to talk while working out at (6:10 intensity ) , avoid any pressure on the abdominals as this can create future tears and a split in your linea Alba ( this is what holds the 2 muscle walls over the foetus) ..
Keep the abs to a very basic sequence of 3 movements :
. Hip roll and pelvic floor on the fit ball
. 30 secs planque
. Hip side raises
You should never lie on your back and avoid crunches all together ...
Working with a trainer is advisable when you pass the end of trimester 2 ...
Your baby is very happy getting so much oxygen when training so he / she will also benefit from this !!!
